I love books, but I don't buy them.
I have spent many years packing, moving, and unpacking, and quickly learned that they just are not practical to have with our lifestyle. However, I still love to read so any time I move somewhere new, I always get a local library card to keep up with my personal reading list. Ann Voskamp's "The Broken Way", is pure gold and has been one I've been reading slowly so the words saturate my soul. I've been waking up at sunrise to sit alone with this open book on my lab and meditate on some of her words below.
This is how you live with your one broken heart. You give it away.
Can you believe that in all your broken, you can still be chosen? That you are?
What do you do if you feel too wounded, too devastated to receive?
We are now Christ's only earthly body.
Peace isn't a place, it's a person. Peace isn't a place we arrive at but a person to abide in.
The best way to say you love is always time, and the best time to love is always now .
Love is not always agreement with someone but it's always sacrifice for someone.
Attention is the rarest and purist form of generosity .
Love isn't about how much money someone's willing to lay down for you, but about how much life they are willing to lay down for you.
I am really thankful for female authors who are able to communicate the pain a heart can feel and then go on to express the beauty and simplicity that can be found in the midst of it. What books are you currently reading?
